FUJI FILM RESURGENCE
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canon EOS Rebel T3, Adobe Lightroom, February 2024 | Advertising II
The goal of this project was to revitalize the FUJIFilm QuickSnap brand, a product with declining use despite film photography's recent resurgence. Leading a team of two other designers as the elected creative director, I oversaw deadlines, quality, and brand consistency, ensuring each design element flowed cohesively across the rebranding campaign.
We selected FUJIFilm for its relevance in analog photography’s revival but noted that its marketing needed a fresh perspective. Our rebranding concept emphasized a modern and playful approach through guerrilla marketing, event-based promotions, and dynamic branding concepts aimed at younger audiences. After rounds of logo development, I combined the strongest elements from each designer’s concept into a clean, forward-looking brand identity for FUJIFilm, setting a modern tone that captures the nostalgia of film with a fresh edge.
Drawing on early-2000s design aesthetics like Frutiger Aero/Metro, I introduced a contemporary twist, blending familiar yet updated visuals that resonate with the new wave of film enthusiasts. This project ultimately positioned FUJIFilm as both retro and innovative, breathing new life into an iconic yet underutilized brand.
